The Department of Medicine, Solna, is one of the largest departments at Karolinska Institutet. The Department consists of several divisions that are separated into different research groups. The core activities of the department are research, doctoral education and undergraduate education for medical and biomedical students. The research has three main profiles: cardiovascular medicine, allergy, and inflammatory diseases.
The current position is advertise by the Division of Cardiology at the Department of Medicine Solna which conducts clinical, epidemiological and experimental research as well as education.
The selected researcher will contribute conceptually as well as methodologically to several registry-based, big-data and clinical studies investigating the status of and barriers to the implementation of guideline directed medical therapies on heart failure in clinical practice, as well as the design of clinical studies testing implementation strategies. The selected research will work in the team and under the supervision of Assoc. Professor Gianluigi Savarese. The candidate will work on performing statistical analyses and writing reports or manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals. The candidate will be also engaged in teaching and supervising PhD and MD students, as well as in writing applications for funding.
To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor, in addition to holding a Degree of Doctor, PhD, or having equivalent scientific expertise, the candidate must have demonstrated research, teaching and clinical expertise, as well as development and collaborative skills, and clinical expertise.

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier. PhD students who have not defended their thesis are allowed to apply for this position whether they are expected to defend before the starting of the employment, i.e. April 1st 2024.
