A Research Specialist position(s) is now open for a highly motivated scientist to work with advanced mouse genetics, circuit tracing, single cell transcriptomics and mouse pain behavior. Responsibilities also encompass in vitro and in vivo biochemistry, molecular biology and use of disease models for chronic pain. The candidate is expected in an independent way pursuing functional and molecular studies to resolve cells and mechanisms underlying nociception and chronic pain. The project focuses on the identification of the exact cell types, identifying neuroimmune interactions and intracellular mechanisms conferring hyperexcitability and pain using in vivo mouse models. The fellow(s) will be responsible for progress in this line of research.
To be eligible for employment as a Research Specialist, in addition to holding a Degree of Doctor, PhD, or having equivalent scientific expertise, the applicant must have demonstrated research expertise as well as have documented research experience after defending their doctoral dissertation.
The applicant must have demonstrated skills and experience in pain research, advanced mouse genetics for TRAPing active neurons for cell type identification and functional re-activation experiments, single cell RNA-sequencing and data analysis, extensive knowledge in testing pain behavior, chronic pain animal models, developing assays, biochemistry, documentation and preparing scientific reports.
The candidate should be self-motivated, have good communication skills and an ability to interact effectively and have demonstrated to be able to work productively in a team. Fluency in English is a requirement.
In connection with the appointment of Research Specialist, we will accord special weight to academic skills, particularly demonstrated excellence in research.
