Description of the subject area

A research Specialist position for understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying the development of chronic pain is available in the laboratory of Saida Hadjab. The research spans from delineating the (epi)genetic of cell state changes associated with pain disorders to ultimately be able to find new targets for treatment and reshape healthy cell state from pain disorders.

Your mission

You will combine behavioral assessments, histology, dissection, cutting-edge molecular biology, next-generation sequencing, and microscopy techniques, while working in synergy with experts in computational methods approaches.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for employment as a Research Specialist, in addition to holding a Degree of Doctor, PhD, or having equivalent scientific expertise, the applicant must have demonstrated research expertise as well as have documented research experience after defending their doctoral dissertation, for this position in pain research field.

Assessment criteria

Applicant should have a strong background in behavioural approaches and experimental cellular/ molecular preferentially documented with publications. The applicants must be expert with animal handling and testing, dissection of dorsal root ganglia and spinal cord, in vivo molecular characterization, single cell/single nuclei extraction from tissue of interest, maintain animal colonies and should have a publication track-record with first authorship.

  • Expertise in pain drug efficacy evaluation
