In our laboratory, we work on contributing to human health. We focus on head and neck and childhood cancer. We focus on identifying biomarkers with a prognostic and for targeted therapy.
We also examine sensitivity of tumour and tumour cell lines to targeted therapy.

Your mission

It is a benefit if you are familiar with the human papillomavirus field, be skilled in cell culture as indicated above. Theoretical and practical knowledge regarding how to perform viability, proliferation, apoptosis and cytotoxicity tests is of benefit. Likewise be skilled in many laboratory techniques as specified above is necessary.

Your profile

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in natural science, preferably in medecine/biomedicine 
  • You need to be able to write scientific manuscripts independently, and to perform basic statistical analysis.
  • Since we are working in a group with many nationalities you need to flexible and easy going
  •  Communicating orally and in writing in English.

Merits:

  • Knowledge in bioinformatics is positive but not compulsary.

Our laboratory is located at Bioclinicum, Department of Oncology-Patholgoy, Karolinska Institutet and Karolinska University Hospital Stockholm/Solna.
