Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

The Rydén and Mejhert lab aims to understand how alterations in human white adipocyte function are related to cardiometabolic disorders such as type 2 diabetes, dyslipidemia, and coronary sclerosis. Our group consists of 15-20 members (senior researchers, postdoctoral fellows, PhD/master students, and technical staff) and has all the necessary infrastructure to conduct translational research including a fully equipped preclinical laboratory at NEO and a clinical research unit at the Karolinska University Hospital, Huddinge.

Your mission

We are recruiting a research assistant to work on a systems biology-focused project where we will integrate multiple proteomic, transcriptomic and metabolomic datasets based on human adipose tissue from healthy individuals and patients with different cardiometabolic diseases. There will also be possibilities to follow-up key findings with wet lab experiments using state-of-the-art methods, including gene editing, in human mesenchymal stem cells. The position is for six months but can be extended by six more months pending the completion of the project.

Your profile

The person appointed should have a master’s degree or equivalent. Experience in coding in languages such as R and Python is highly meritorious. It is also a strength if the applicant has experience in common cell and molecular biology approaches. It is expected that the candidate should be able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently. Good knowledge in English, written and spoken, is a requirement.
