- with focus on research
At the Department of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology (CLINTEC) and the Unit of Obstetrics and Gynecology, there are excellent opportunities to conduct internationally leading research on embryonic stem cells, both for fundamental studies of early embryo development but also for clinical translational research. The lab is integrated with Karolinska University Hospital's Reproductive Medicine Unit and in close proximity to the Karolinska Center for Cell Therapy (KCC, VECURA). The unit has a well-functioning and scientifically advanced research environment with international leaders in reproductive toxicology, stem cell treatment of osteogenesis imperfect and age-related macular changes, early embryonic development and reproductive medicine. With this recruitment we want to further strengthen basic scientific and translational research in the field of embryonic stem cells.
The subject area includes medical biotechnology with a focus on embryonic stem cells. The research focus focus on the use of embryonic stem cells for both fundamental and applied translational research. We see future opportunities for the use of stem cell-based embryo models for fundamental studies of early human embryo development and the establishment of new advanced therapy drugs (ATMPs) based on embryonic stem cells.
You will conduct internationally leading research in embryonic stem cell-based developmental, reproductive, and regenerative medicine. The research must include both basic scientific research and applied research.
