At the Institute for Environmental Medicine (IMM), research is conducted in toxicology, physiology, epidemiology, environmental and occupational medicine. IMM also acts as a scientific advisor to authorities in the field of environmental medicine, and IMM researchers participate in national and international expert groups that conduct risk assessments or develop guidelines.
The research at IMM's Toxicology unit revolves around the molecular signaling that regulates the decision between life and death at the cellular level, as well as how its deregulation is involved in various disease processes in humans. We are now looking for a postdoctoral fellow with competence in microglia and againg. The employment is temporary for two years.
Responsible for an ongoing research project at the Unit of Toxicology lead by Professor Joseph related to the molecular and cellular mechanisms behind aging of microglia, resident immune cells of the central nervous system, and the consequence of microglial aging for brain related disorders. Duties includes management of contact with collaborators involved in these investigations, designed and execution experimentation related to the project, supervision of less experienced team fellows, as well as application to funding agencies to secure financial support.
To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.
