The position is in the Orthopedics research group. We are seeking a motivated research assistant to work in a team developing strategies for the bone and tissue regeneration.

Your mission

We study musculoskeletal disorders both at the clinical and molecular level in order to understand disease mechanisms. The research group is studying biomarkers of tissue regeneration by utilizing diverse biochemical techniques. Identified biomarkers are evaluated functionally in in-vitro and in-vivo models.

Your profile

We are recruiting a research assistant on 50 % for 6 months to work on a project where we aim to study the effects of specific metal alloy on cellular proliferative and regenerative processes. The work will primarily include various laboratory tasks, mostly the preparation of cells for protein based assays.Working hours are to some extent flexible.

We are looking for a candidate with ongoing or completed university education in medicine or molecular biology. In addition, the applicant must have:

  • Experience of working with primary cells and cell lines
  • Experience in basic lab methods, protein extraction and western blot
  • Experience of handling human biopsies.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and in collaboration with colleagues, and the ability to document work.
