The Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics conducts research in epidemiology and biostatistics across a broad range of areas within biomedical science. The department is among the largest of its type in Europe and has especially strong research profiles in psychiatric, cancer, reproductive, pediatric, pharmaco, genetic, and geriatric epidemiology, eating disorders, precision medicine, and biostatistics.

Part of the success of our department is due to our collaborative spirit where one factor is that researchers at the Department share and co-finance common resources (e.g., IT and an applied biostatistics group). In our research group, we aim to develop and apply computational methods and statistical methods for analyzes of multiomics data from complex diseases in the population.

Your mission

The advent of high-throughput technologies has produced an avalanche of omics data and revolutionized medical research. This project focuses on developing computational and statistical methodologies for analyses of omics data and drug data from human diseases. The candidate will work on analysis of next-generation sequencing data and drug data using pharmacogenomics data. The candidate will also be involved in developing statistical models for drug response prediction and drug-disease prediction.

The position is an hourly employment with approximately 1-2 hours per week depending on project requirement.

Your profile

- Strong background in mathematics and statistics.
- Experience with statistical learning methods for medical/omics data
- Strong experience with programming using R, Python, C/C++, Matlab
