The Department of Global Public Health is an interdisciplinary institution that aims to advance knowledge on how to improve population health at local, national and global level. Research at the department aims to identify the determinants of health, develop and evaluate individual and structural interventions, and provide evidence for guidelines and policy documents. Many of the department's researchers are scientific advisors to authorities and other decision-makers at regional, national and international level. The department has 12 research groups, about 110 research students and about 140 employees. The position will be within the research group Implementation And Quality (IMPAQT), that is located in Solna, and led by Claudia Hanson. Your will find a unique opportunity to be part of large international consortia with members in Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe and strong links to leading institutions within the field in Europe and beyond.

This position full time with a possible extension up to 12 months total employment.

Your mission

Your work will include a wide portfolio of supporting research and research management within our ongoing research and the EU-project: QUALI-DEC. The main tasks will be to support the evaluation of QUALI-DEC. This will include facilitation of team meetings, note taking, planning for, and supporting data collection, data management in RedCAP, organising and analysing qualitative and quantitative data, report writing and summarising research findings. The applicant will work with multi-disciplinary teams and should have excellent skill in teamwork and communication. The applicant should be willing to perform duty travels as required.

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a research assistant is someone who has a Master’s degree in Public Health, Global Health, Epidemiology or similar. Documented knowledge of, and experience in qualitative research methods is a requirement. Experience of working with statistical packages for quantitative analysis and experience of STATA and REDCap is an advantage, as well as prior experience of project management. Experience from primary data collection in low- middle-income settings is a merit for this position, as well as experience of working in the field of women’s and children’s health, and sexual and reproductive health and rights.

A major asset will be experience in Global Health, working with multi-professional teams, experiences of working in different cultures and disciplines in low- and middle-income countries including data collection, analysis and scientific writing. Excellent skills in reading, writing, and communicating in English is a requirement. Proficiency in French language, written and spoken, is a strong merit. Intermediate proficiency in Swedish is also desired.

You have documented experience of analyzing qualitative data and skills in scientific writing. You are driven with passion for global health. In your work you are structured and have excellent communication skills in English and French. You work independently, with high quality and in a well-organized way, and are able to meet deadlines.
