The Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society (NVS) conducts world leading research in aging, dementia, epidemiology and care sciences. This research extends from basic molecular and cell levels to clinical research and societal studies. NVS educates almost a third of KI students at basic and advanced levels. The Department has approximately 540 employees and a revenue 2023 of 530 million SEK. It comprises seven divisions, located at Campus Flemingsberg and Campus Solna.
Aging Research Center (ARC), a division within NVS, is located at KI Campus Solna, Stockholm. It is a multidisciplinary academic environment, representing medicine (e.g., neurology, epidemiology, psychiatry, geriatrics), psychology (e.g., cognition, structural, functional, and molecular brain imaging), and social gerontology (e.g., sociology, public health, social epidemiology, social work). The center has around 70 employees, it has a strong focus on research with unique research resources, such as large-scale longitudinal studies and nationwide registries.
We are looking for a research assistant to contribute to a project funded by the Swedish Research Council on multimorbidity development in older adults, with a particular focus on disease sequential occurrence and microsimulation of counterfactual exposures to given risk factors. The overall aim of the project is to identify promising interventions to reduce the burden of multimorbidity in late life.
We are looking for a highly motivated research assistant who will be working under the main supervision of associate professor Davide Liborio Vetrano. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to quantitative analyses and implementation of complex microsimulation models on multimorbidity information using data from the Swedish National Study on Aging and Care in Kungsholmen, an ongoing longitudinal population-based cohort study with more than 20 years of follow-up of persons aged 60 years or older. Tasks will include data cleaning and preparation, statistical analysis, results appraisal, team discussion, and contribution to manuscript preparation.
This is a full-time, temporary position with a duration of 12 months.
The successful candidate is expected
(1) to hold a Master’s degree in statistics by the time of employment;
(2) to have previous experience in quantitative analyses of data from population-based cohort studies;
(3) to have excellent command of Stata, R and other statistical software;
(4) to have experience with multi-state modelling and longitudinal analyses;
(5) to have excellent English language skills.
This position also requires good collaboration skills as well as ability to take responsibility and work independently.
