A research assistant position is available in the lab of Michael Ratz at the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology. The lab is located on KI’s Solna campus in Biomedicum, a brand-new and interdisciplinary research center with advanced laboratories and modern facilities designed to promote research and collaboration. The Ratz lab is using and creating novel molecular tools (e.g., cellular barcoding and spatial transcriptomics) to understand the development of neural circuits in the mammalian brain in health and disease.
The research assistant will be an active member of the research group and support ongoing projects in the laboratory in the field of neural circuit development.
We are recruiting an enthusiastic research assistant to support the generation of barcoded virus libraries and their injection into the mouse brain. The ideal candidate should have a MSc degree in biomedicine, biotechnology, or a related field. The candidate should be familiar with and be able to demonstrate experience in working with laboratory mice (e.g., intracerebroventricular injections), histology (e.g., vibratome), fluorescence imaging (e.g., confocal microscopy), cell culture (e.g., HEK cells) and molecular biology (e.g., RNA extraction). Fluent written and spoken English is mandatory.
