You will be joining the Unit for Cervical Cancer Elimination, at the Department of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology. Our research aims at understanding the risk factors and prognostic indicators for cervical cancer. We use different research tools in addressing these research questions, including population and health registers, large scale cohort and case-control studies, as well as different biobanks. We employ advanced epidemiology, combined with basic research ideas and molecular studies.

Your mission

The work will focus on high-quality analytics in cervical cancer epidemiology, with an initial emphasis on investigating the risk and prognosis of cervical cancer among women with mental disorders, using large-scale register-based studies. You will also be responsible for coordinating the research objectives of several studies of HPV vaccination in collaboration with pharmaceutical industry. The position entails good potential for scientific advancement of your own choosing, within the designated profile of the research group.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for employment as a Research Specialist, in addition to holding a Degree of Doctor, PhD, or having equivalent scientific expertise, the applicant must have demonstrated research expertise as well as have documented research experience after defending their doctoral dissertation.

An additional requirement is that the applicant has several years of experience working with data in the Swedish health registers, and it is an advantage to have experience from research collaborations with pharmaceutical industry and/or governmental agencies in the healthcare area. You have defended a thesis within method focus on epidemiology, statistics, or thereto associated areas. The position requires advanced level knowledge and profound experience of programming in SAS, Stata and/or R. You have profound experience from working with health data registers and feel comfortable using these to answer research questions. You also have experience coordinating projects and driving them forward, with guidance from the research principal investigator.
