We are interested in understanding the connection between chemicals and cancer. We work with both cellular models and analyze databases to study the mechanisms behind chemically induced cancer. We are specifically interested in how the new type of DNA damage contribute to the development of lung cancer induced by chemicals. 

Your mission

The postdoc position focuses on inflammatory and carcinogenic effects induced by silica and related chemicals. We work with cell models and study cell signaling at a molecular level. The aim is to understand aspects of silica-induced DNA damage and its possible influence on carcinogenesis. Included are studies on DNA damage signaling and other events of possible importance for carcinogenesis, including NALP3 activation.

The applicant should have a PhD degree from an appropriate discipline, such as cell- or molecular biology or toxicology. Experience in cell- and molecular biology techniques is needed. Experience in such techniques of relevance for carcinogenesis and inflammation is a merit. The position is temporary for 2 years, with possibility of extension.

Your profile

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.
