The Department of Oncology-Pathology at Karolinska Institutet conducts basic, translational and clinical research related to cancer, and offers educational programs at undergraduate, Master and doctoral levels. Approximately 300 people from over 40 nations, 37 research groups with various cancer research profiles and around 110 PhD students, are currently working at the department.
The postdoctoral studies will be conducted in the research group of Professor Catharina Larsson. The group is focusing on molecular genetic backgrounds of neuroendocrine/endocrine tumor development. We aim to understand the tumor etiology concerning risk, predisposing factors and natural course of endocrine tumor development, and identify novel targets for diagnostics and therapy development.
We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctor with interest in adrenal tumors. The candidate will be assigned to projects concerning somatic and constitutional genetic and other molecular aberrations involved in adrenal tumor development and how they contribute to the disease, patient outcome and can be applied for clinical purposes. The candidate will be responsible for experimental design, experimentations, data analysis and manuscript writing. Additionally, the candidate is also expected to contribute to common laboratory duties and supervise research students.
To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.
