The Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology (MTC) at Karolinska Institutet conducts research and teaching within immunology, infection biology, cell biology and cancer. MTC have about 40 research groups and our key words are multidisciplinary, bridging, national and international collaborations.

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to work with Assistant Professor Pia Dosenovic at the department of MTC, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden. The group is studying B cell immunology with a focus on questions relevant for vaccine design.

Your mission

Are you highly organized and enjoy performing varying laboratory work on exciting research questions?

As a research assistant in Pia Dosenovic’s group you will perform common molecular cloning techniques and use mammalian cell lines for protein production. You will be expected to work with mice and perform immunological assays such as ELISA and flow cytometry. Your job assignment will also include managing the laboratory, including ordering laboratory supplies, and in general contributing to making sure the laboratory runs safe and smoothly.

Your profile

Qualifications for the position:

  • Experience with immunological techniques such as flow cytometry and ELISA is advantageous.
  • Personal skills will be highly evaluated.

Requirements for the position:

  • Previous laboratory experience of a minimum of 3 years and strong organizational skills.
  • Experience in basic molecular techniques as well as protein production from mammalian cell culture systems and purification of proteins by affinity- and size exclusion chromatography.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with mice.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
