CFG is part of the SciLifeLab platform Chemical Biology and Genome Engineering and is based at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics in Biomedicum, Solna. As a national SciLifeLab unit, our mission is to develop and implement high-throughput CRISPR methodologies to support the Swedish research community in the design, execution, and interpretation of large-scale, CRISPR-based functional genomic experiments.

Your mission

We are seeking an enthusiastic person who will work on establishing pooled CRISPR screens with microscopic readout based on in situ sequencing of guide RNAs. The employment includes experimental laboratory work, data processing, data analysis and report writing. This is a temporary employment contract with a maximal duration of 6 months.

Your profile

You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in the molecular life sciences. You have strong theoretical knowledge and excellent experimental skills in cellular and molecular biology, as well as a proven aptitude in mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique. You have previously performed CRISPR/Cas9 precision genome engineering (knock-outs, knock-ins, etc). You have practical experience in massively parallel perturbations using pooled CRISPR guide libraries and have a solid understanding of these methods. You are familiar with the principles of in situ sequencing approaches.
