The Department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics (LIME) conducts research and teaching in the areas of pedagogy, informatics, management, ethics and suicide prevention, both in undergraduate and postgraduate education as well as executive education. The department has about 120 employees and is located in Widerströmska huset, Solna.

Your mission

You will work in the interdisciplinary research group Leadership in Healthcare and Academia. The research will initially be conducted within two different projects: 1) how health care's climate work can be managed, organized, and facilitated, and 2) physicians' leadership, learning and establishment in Swedish healthcare.

Additional specializations may be required. You will work as responsible for research projects. The duties include running the projects, being responsible for data collection primarily of qualitative data in the form of interviews and observations, as well as analyzing the collected material and writing scientific articles. Depending on which research projects the group initiates and which are granted funding in the future, it may be necessary to develop questionnaires, collect responses and analyze quantitative data using statistical methods. You will work in close collaboration with other researchers. One of the projects takes place as action research, which also involves close collaboration with a health care organization. The duties also include writing research applications related to the research group's area, providing feedback on others' research projects and results, and conducting evaluations and teaching at undergraduate and master level. The service also includes some administration.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for employment as a Research Specialist, in addition to holding a Degree of Doctor, PhD, or having equivalent scientific expertise, the applicant must have demonstrated research expertise as well as have documented research experience after defending their doctoral dissertation.

The current service also requires:

  • Documented experience of developing research projects focusing on leadership to reduce the climate footprint of healthcare
  • Exam in Ethnology
  • Publication in medical education
  • Documented experience of managing projects
  • Very good written and oral skills in Swedish and English
  • Experience with both quantitative and qualitative methods
  • Extensive experience in scientifically evaluating academic projects and educations
  • Experience of teaching at undergraduate and advanced level in quantitative and/or qualitative methods
  • Experience of administrative tasks in academia

It is particularly meritorious if the applicant has:

  • Great interest in the research area
  • Very good ability/skill in writing applications for research funding in the areas specified in the application
  • Been granted research funding in one of the research areas relevant to the position

An overall assessment of the applicants' merits and skills will be made. Particular emphasis will be placed on personal suitability and interest in contributing to the development of health care and the development of the academic environment at the department.
