We are looking for a statistician who wants to work in a large and varied research group.

The Department of Global Public Health is an interdisciplinary institution that aims to advance knowledge on how to improve population health at local, national and global level.

This position is placed in the research group EPiCSS, (Epidemiology of Psychiatric Conditions, Substance use and Social Environment. The ultimate aim of the research in our group is early intervention and prevention of mental ill-health and psychiatric disorders (including substance use), by understanding risk and protective factors in the context of the social environment; examining specific groups at risk; and developing and evaluating interventions.

Your mission

As our statistician you will work in the middle of the research group supporting researchers and doctoral students throughout the entire research process. From power calculations in grant applications via register linkages, database handling and data analysis, to the last table in the manuscript.

The work tasks are as following:

  • Statistical support
  • Data Management
  • Analysis

Your profile

  • You must have a master's degree in biostatistics, statistics, applied mathematics, epidemiology or equivalent quantitative education.
  • Experience of register-based research is required.
  • Furthermore, it is a requirement that you are familiar with graphic layout and data management.
  • Knowledge of either Stata, SAS, R or Python is also a requirement, while experience in several other programs is an additional merit.
  • It is also a merit that you have experience with a broad set of analysis methods, but above all that you have the desire and ability to learn new methods.

Good ability to communicate in English in speech and writing is a requirement, while good ability to communicate in Swedish in speech and writing is a merit. As a person it is a requirement that you are meticulous and analytical with good cooperation skills.
