Research Assistant

The Lopez laboratory, in the Department of Neuroscience at the Karolinska Institutet, has an open position for a Research Assistant to investigate the molecular mechanisms associated with stress-related psychiatric disorders and their treatments, using animal models. The project will involve the analysis of multimodal high-throughput genomic data from multiple mouse tissues (brain and periphery). More specifically, bulk RNA-seq, single-cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq and protein.

Your mission

Suitable candidates most have significant experience working with the analysis of Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies. Advanced computational skills and knowledge of R or Python is a requirement. Previous hands-on experience with the analysis of single-cell data (10x Genomics) or bulk datasets (RNA or protein) from multiple tissues is a plus. In addition, candidates with knowledge or experience with machine learning methods will be prioritized. Furthermore, the candidate should possess experience with Linux-based servers and management of high-performance clusters. Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a research assistant is one who has obtained at least a Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience, psychology, pharmacology, or any related field. It is considered as an advantage if you have already completed your Master’s degree.
