We are looking for a post-doctoral fellow to join us in our research on Innate Lymphoid Cells and allergic diseases in the team of Itziar Martinez-Gonzalez. The Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology (MTC) at Karolinska Institutet conducts research and teaching in immunology, infection biology, cell biology and cancer. MTC has about 430 active employees, including many PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, senor scientists, lecturers and professors.

Your mission

To study the role of ILC in the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis. To analyze human ILCs from different tissues and generate humanised mouse models.

Your profile

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.

The group is looking for a highly motivated and ambitious postdoctoral researcher.

In addition to the aforementioned requirements, the application must have:

  • A strong background in Type 2 immunity and experience with mouse model work is required.
  • The candidate is expected to be organized and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Additional skills that are especially meritorious for the position:

  • Prior experience in innate lymphoid cell research and/or single cell sequencing analysis will be prioritised.
  • Good scientific writing and communicating skills will be an asset.

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctoral fellow is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.
