Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

A postdoctoral research position is available in the lab of Rickard Sandberg at the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology (CMB). The lab is located in Biomedicum, a top-notch research building with a modern infrastructure and equipment. Rickard’s lab is focusing on developing genomic technologies to study tissues at the single-cell level, to study how the genome is controlled, including when and how genes are turned on, and which RNA isoform that is being generated.

Your mission

This postdoctoral research project is focused on computational analyses of transcriptional and post-transcriptional regulation. The lab has generated unique data sets (deep scRNA-seq analyses of brain regions, and other cells) that will be the basis for analyses to reveal new insights into how regulatory elements specify transcriptional bursting dynamics and splicing outcomes.

Your profile

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.

The postdoctoral candidate must have a background in computational biology, including sequencing-based projects and/or single-cell genomics. Meriting is experience in efficient computational strategies for processing large-scale data sets (Tb data; multi-core; Python; Rust) and explorative analyses of single-cell data (incl. biological filtering, separating biological and technical signals, multidimensional projections).
