Do you want to contribute to top quality education?

The Department of Laboratory Medicine consists of 6 divisions and is active in many areas of Laboratory Medicine. The department is involved in advanced basic scientific, clinical, and epidemiological research. The department is one of the largest departments of education at Karolinska Institutet.

We are looking for a postdoktoral researcher who will also benefit from a close collaboration with the Centre for Infectious Medicine (CIM) at the Department of Medicine Huddinge.

Your mission

The focus of this post-doctoral position will be to investigate the phenotypic and functional profile of T cells collected from clinical samples of cancer patients (such as Hepatocellular carcinoma) in connection to their reactivity against mutated antigens. The project will aim to answer basic immunological questions but will also have a straightforward translational application for the development of new immunotherapies. This project will be conducted at ANA Futura under the supervision of Anna Pasetto (LabMed) and Marcus Buggert (CIM), and the candidate will have access to state-of-the-art laboratories for cell culture, flow cytometry, and single-cell transcriptomic analysis.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technological platforms and clinical samples to unravel the molecular mechanisms behind T cell recognition of mutated cancer antigens. This knowledge will be used to develop new immunotherapies such as neoantigen vaccines and adoptive TCR-T cell therapy against cancer.

Your profile

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.

The applicant needs to demonstrate experience in running projects independently and have a strong attitude toward cooperation and teamwork. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are required, as the group and work environment are international.
