The Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology (MTC) at Karolinska Institutet conducts research and teaching within immunology, infection biology, cell biology and cancer. MTC has about 40 research groups and our key words are multidisciplinary, bridging, national and international collaborations.

We are now recruiting a research assistant for 3 months to work in the group of Professor Gunilla Karlsson Hedestam, see https://ki.se/en/mtc/gunilla-karlsson-hedestam-group.

Your mission

You will work with the isolation of monoclonal antibodies from single B cells using RT-PCR, cloning and production of recombinant antibodies in mammalian cells. You will also purify antibodies and characterize them using a set of functional assays.

Your profile

You are enrolled in a master program and have prior research experience working with PCR, cloning and expression of recombinant antibodies. You are fluent in both written and spoken English and you enjoy working in an international environment. You enjoy working in the lab and you are keen to learn different tools to analyze biological data.
