The Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology (MTC) at Karolinska Institutet conducts research and teaching within immunology, infection biology, cell biology and cancer. MTC has about 40 research groups and our key words are multidisciplinary, bridging, national and international collaborations.

We are now recruiting a research assistant for one year to work in the group of Professor Gunilla Karlsson Hedestam, see https://ki.se/en/mtc/gunilla-karlsson-hedestam-group.

Your mission

You will work with the isolation and characterization of primary cells from human donors using flow cytometric analysis, and the isolation and characterization of monoclonal antibodies from single B cells using RT-PCR, cloning and functional assays. You will also work with Next Generation Sequencing of immune repertoires and the analysis of such data.

Your profile

You have a recent medical degree with prior experience working with primary immune cells, flow cytometry, PCR, expression of recombinant antibodies, and immune repertoire sequencing. You are fluent in both written and spoken English and you enjoy working in an international environment. You enjoy working independently in the lab and you are keen to learn different tools to analyze biological data.
