The Division of Insurance Medicine, Department of Clinical Neuroscience, Karolinska Institutet, is a leading center for research about sickness absence, morbidity, work, and life situation. Your mission

We are looking for a postdoc who will work in different projects about associations between life situation, morbidity, and work ability. We conduct both observational and intervention studies.

The position involves participating in, planning, and conducting studies. Your duties will primarily involve analysing data, some data management, and writing manuscripts and grant applications. You are encouraged to develop your own ideas and work towards advancing your own independent line of research within the area.

The position is a fulltime position for 2 years, with the possibility for extension.

Your profile

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.

Documented experience of epidemiological studies is required for the position. Experience of working with large databases of register and/or survey data as well as analyses in, e.g., SAS, STATA, SPSS, or R, are meriting for the position. Experience of working with nationwide Swedish registers and research within the insurance medicine area are particularly meriting. Good knowledge of spoken and written English is essential, and knowledge of Swedish is meriting. The applicant should show a high degree of conscientiousness, initiative, and independence. The work will be conducted in collaboration with the PI and other project members, and places high demands on flexibility and good collaborative abilities.
