The postdoctoral project will be conducted in Maria Genander’s research group. More information about the Genander lab can be found here: http://ki.se/en/cmb/maria-genanders-group.
The Genander lab is interested in understanding establishment and maintenance of epithelial tissue homeostasis and how alterations in homeostasis lead to tumor formation. Specifically, we are interested in identifying and mechanistically delineate how posttranslational protein modifications affect stem cell lineage progression normally, and how these protein modifications are altered upon tumor initiation.
The current project will be centered around citrullination in hair follicle lineage progression. The work includes analysis of genetically modified mouse models and in vitro characterization of citrullinated protein residues, focusing on translational regulators.
To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.
The candidate is expected to have documented hands-on experience of working with mouse models and epidermal progenitor cells. Previous experience in elucidating the function of citrullinating enzymes is a merit. The candidate should be able to independently analyze both transcriptomic and proteomic data.
