The Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology (MTC) at Karolinska Institutet conducts research and teaching within immunology, infection biology, cell biology and cancer. MTC have about 40 research groups and our key words are multidisciplinary, bridging, national and international collaborations.

Current projects involve antibody discovery, vaccine design, building models of molecular evolution, and various applications of deep learning.

Your mission

You will play a leading role in lab administration, including purchasing, budgeting, drafting ethics applications, document preparation, etc.

  • Where needed, you will also support research in the lab with some of the following:
  • Standard molecular biology, such as cloning, PCR, etc.
  • Protein expression in mammalian cells, managing cell lines, etc.
  • Protein purification (affinity and SEC).
  • Various assays.
  • Optionally, small animal handling, immunizations.

Your profile

-An educational background (at least an undergraduate degree) in biology, medicine, or equivalent field.

-Clear written and spoken communication in English is required. Swedish is a plus.

-Some practical experience and familiarity with any the following techniques is a plus:

  • Standard molecular biology, such as cloning (eg. by Gibson assembly), PCR, etc.
  • Mammalian cell culture techniques.
  • Protein expression in mammalian cells.
  • Protein purification (affinity and SEC).
  • Small animal handling experience is a plus, including eg. FELASA certificate.
