A research assistant position is available in the lab of Rickard Sandberg at the department of Cell and Molecular Biology (CMB) at Karolinska Institutet, one of the world’s leading biomedical research institutes. The lab is located at Biomedicum, a newly opened research building with excellent infrastructure and world leading research. The lab’s primary focus is to elucidate the regulation of mammalian gene expression and transcriptional dynamics, and to this end we are developing improved single-cell genomics methods.

Your mission

The successful applicant will be responsible for operating a highly automated molecular biology setup for single-cell genomics, including FACS sorting cells, supervising the robotic infrastructure, and sequencing the libraries on in-house sequencing machines. Moreover, the position may include computational analysis of sequencing data and improvements to the robotic infrastructure.

Your profile

To be eligible for this position, the applicant must satisfy the following requirements:

Master’s degree in biomedicine, molecular biology, bioengineering, computer science (or similar)
Fluency in English (spoken and written)
Excellent communication skills

Moreover, skills in the following areas are meriting:

Computational skills involving python, git, and other programming languages
Experience in molecular biology
