Do you want to contribute to better health for all?

At the Division of Insurance Medicine, Department of Clinical Neuroscience, Karolinska Institutet, we conduct studies about different aspects of sickness absence, morbidity, and life situation. You will have the opportunity to work near top researchers within the sickness absence field and contribute to high quality research at international level. The complex research questions demand an interdisciplinary approach, and people with many different scientific and professional backgrounds work in the project. We also have comprehensive collaborations within Sweden as well as internationally.

Your mission

We are looking for a research specialist who will work in different projects about sickness absence. One project concerns sickness absence among women and men in specific occupations, primarily health and social care and blue- and white-collar workers, e.g. within the trade and retail industry. A second project concerns sickness absence among people in paid work after age 65, where gender differences are an important aspect of our research. Some of the questions you will research are: To what extent are they sickness absent, in what diagnoses, etc? How are sociodemographic and work-related factors associated with their sickness absence? What are the associations between their morbidity and their sickness absence? How has this changed over time?

The projects are interdisciplinary and you will work closely with other researchers and statisticians. Your duties will primarily involve analysing data, some data management, writing manuscripts and grant applications. The work will be conducted in collaboration with the PI and other project members, and places high demands on flexibility and good collaboration.
