The Department of Global Public Health is an interdisciplinary institution that aims to advance knowledge on how to improve population health at local, national and global level. Many of the department's researchers are scientific advisors to authorities and other decision-makers at regional, national and international level. The department has 9 research groups, about 85 research students and about 140 employees.

Your mission

You will be part of a team investigating the association between tobacco use and the occurrence of COVID-19 in general population samples. The project goes towards its conclusion and your support is needed to finalize the scientific publications.

Your tasks will consist of:

  • Searching and summarizing relevant scientific literature
  • Basic data management and statistical analysis
  • Editing scientific articles before publication
  • Administrative tasks related to scientific publication and to education

This is a fixed-term position of 50% from 1st of March until 31st of December. 

Your profile

The applicant we look for:

  • Has a higher education in public health sciences corresponding to Master level (one- or two-year program)
  • Is fluent in written and spoken English at an advanced level
  • Has experience of summarizing scientific literature

Additional merits are:

  • University education in a medical discipline
  • Knowledge of tobacco-related diseases and of behavioral aspects of tobacco use
  • Ability to use the Swedish language to communicate, but especially to read and understand texts related to the project
  • Experience of collection of quantitative data
  • Experience of software used for management and statistical analysis of quantitative data (e.g., STATA, SAS, R)
