Our research group (PI: Maria Ankarcrona) investigates molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying mitochondrial dysfunction and neuronal cell death in Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. The group works in an inspiring and interactive research environment in Bioclinicum, KI-Campus Solna and has on-going collaborative projects with national and international research groups.
Duties
The student will be involved in a project validating compounds identified in a high-throughput screen. Methods used include cell culture, measurements of oxygen consumption rate, PCR, and confocal microscopy.
