The department of Cell and Molecular Biology (CMB) is an institution with a strong focus on basic research. The research groups are organized according to two thematic programs, Developmental and stem Cell Biology, and Cell Biology. CMB conducts research and teaching in cell biology, molecular biology, developmental biology, stem cell biology, cancer and infection biology.

Description of the subject area

We are looking for a committed, well-established scientist working in the field of genome organization, with focus on the relationship between spatial folding and function of chromosomes.

Your mission

The successful candidate is expected to lead a research team towards novel discoveries within the subject area, and to disseminate these findings at the international arena in the form of scientific publications and presentations at national and international research conferences and seminars. Other included tasks are research development, management of personnel within the team, fund raising and promotion of internationalization at university level. He/she should also actively participate in other departmental activities when called upon.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for employment as a Principal Researcher, in addition to holding a Degree of Doctor, PhD, or having equivalent scientific expertise, the applicant must have demonstrated research expertise. The applicant must also be a Research Leader and have established their own line of research. The applicant should furthermore have shown documented, high-quality scientific production, particularly in the last six years and have the potential to energetically drive their research forward as well as be recognized nationally and internationally. The applicant should also have obtained good, long-term and preferably external funding and have the potential to obtain further external funding.  The applicant should have shown teaching and supervision experience and demonstrated good leadership qualities.

Successfully applied for competitive external funding.

Experience from international research institutes/universities

An extensive international and national collaboration network.

Experience from internationalization processes at university level.

Experience from organization committees of national and international conferences and seminar series.
