In a collaboration between Karolinska Institutet, the University of Gothenburg, Umeå University and Uppsala University, you will have an opportunity to be involved in developing the new initiative Centre for Global Transformation for Health. The position provides the opportunity to strengthen the Swedish resource base for improvements in global health, in a framework of Agenda 2030. You will also contribute to the high-level report launch of the Lancet-SIGHT Commission on Peaceful Societies through Health and Gender Equality.

Your mission

The Policy and Advocacy Lead is responsible for strategic planning, developing and managing international partnerships across sectors, internal and external communications, policy outreach and engagement, financial management, and event planning and logistics for the Lancet-SIGHT Commission. In addition, the Policy and Advocacy Lead will contribute to the strategic planning, coordination, and logistics of the new Centre for Global Transformation for Health.

Your profile

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

Requirements:

  • University degree or equivalent professional experience in global health, public health, public policy, or another field relevant to the Lancet-SIGHT Commission
  • Extensive professional experience in policy and advocacy in global health or relevant field
  • Experience effectively managing a Lancet Commission or similar type of large, international consortium
  • Demonstrated success in developing and managing international partnerships across sectors with a range of partners
  • Professional communications and event planning experience in the field of global health or relevant field
  • Fluency in English, in both speech and writing

Meritorious:

  • Expertise in linking research and evidence to policy and practice in global health or relevant field
  • Experience collaborating with a range of partners in Sweden, including research institutes, universities, international organizations, and policymakers
  • Specialized in grant and financial management
  • Strong track record in fundraising
  • Strong writing skills for policy and research audiences
