Measuring person-centred outcomes in maternity care is complex and typically consists of two types of measures: experiences of care and satisfaction with care. There are limited validated measurement tools for these measures in maternal health, particularly for low- and middle-income country settings. The main task will be to perform a psychometric scale analysis on a tool that was designed for assessing women’s experience specifically respect and mistreatment during childbirth in the ALERT project. You will also be expected to draft the manuscript and take responsibility for submitting it to a scientific journal for publication. The applicant will work with multi-disciplinary teams and should be willing and able to communicate in a culturally sensitive way.
This is a temporary position for three months.
You should have a Master’s degree in Public Health, Global Health, Epidemiology or similar. Knowledge and proven experience leading a psychometric scale analysis within a Global Public Health area is required. Knowledge and experience working with statistical packages for quantitative analysis is required, previous experience of STATA or R. Previous experience in project management is expected and experience working in a structured, quality-oriented and independent manner is necessary. A major asset will be working with multi-professional teams, experiences of working in different cultures and disciplines including data collection, grant writing, and writing of ethical applications.
