We are looking for applicants who want to participate in the project entitled “Mapping the behavioral and computational traces of uncontrollable stress on decision-making and their relevance for depression”. The aims of the project are: 1) to develop and validate a battery of decision-making tasks measuring dissociable aspects of decision-making abilities sensitive to dopamine modulation; 2) to test the impact of real-life stress on performance on these tasks; and 3) test whether adaptations in decision-making abilities upon stress exposure predict the expression of depressive symptoms.
We are looking for a highly motivated research assistant that will be working under the main supervision of Dr. Marc Guitart-Masip. The successful candidate is expected to help setting up the battery of decision-making tasks, collect data online using the decision-making battery, and analyze the data.
This is a temporary position with a duration of 12 months. The exact percentage of work will depend on the candidate and can range 50 to 100%.
The successful candidate is expected (1) to hold a Master’s degree related to psychology, cognitive neuroscience, neuroscience or some other relevant area by the time of employment; (2) to have some experience with cognitive psychology experiments and/or basic knowledge and skills in statistics; (3) to have excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively and productively with team members; and (4) to have impeccable English language skills in terms of oral and written communication.
