The Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society (NVS) conducts world leading research in aging, dementia, epidemiology and care sciences. This research extends from basic molecular and cell levels to clinical research and societal studies. NVS educates almost a third of KI students at basic and advanced levels. The Department has approximately 540 employees and a revenue 2023 of 530 million SEK. It comprises seven divisions, located at Campus Flemingsberg and Campus Solna.
Aging Research Center (ARC), a division within NVS, is located at KI Campus Solna, Stockholm. It is a multidisciplinary academic environment, representing medicine (e.g., neurology, epidemiology, psychiatry, geriatrics), psychology (e.g., cognition, structural, functional, and molecular brain imaging), and social gerontology (e.g., sociology, public health, social epidemiology, social work). The center has around 70 employees, it has a strong focus on research with unique research resources, such as large-scale longitudinal studies and nationwide registries.
We are looking for applicants who want to participate in the project entitled “Monitoring older adults’ health for preventive and early interventions: use of the Health Assessment Tool (HAT) in the Swedish primary care setting” (see link to the project). The aims of the project are: 1) to test the reliability and prognostic value of HAT in the primary care setting; and 2) to assess the feasibility and acceptability of using HAT in primary care.
In this role your are expected to help with the data collection across three primary care centers (objective 1), and you will be involved in the coordination of the focus group interviews with patients, physicians and nurses participating in the project (objective 2). You will work with a large research group and have a close collaboration with a PhD student who will also be employed in the project. In this position you will have an important role in the project and contribute to the groups publications. You may also be involved in the different scientific and organizational workshops throughout project development.
This is a 50-75% temporary position (scope can be discussed) with a duration of 12 months.
This position requires that you are solution-oriented, and have an interest and sense of collaboration with researchers and patients. You work in a systematic way and prioritize thoroughness and quality. It's also required that you (1) are a licensed nurse; (2) have documented experience working in primary care or any other clinical setting (3) have excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively and productively with healthcare professionals and patients; and (4) have impeccable Swedish language skills in terms of oral and written communication (at least level C1). Having previous experience in geriatrics will be considered as an additional merit.
