In our research group you will work with scientists conducting world-leading research on the occurrence and progression of inflammatory diseases such as multiple sclerosis (MS). We work with integrating large-scale clinical information with molecular genetics, environmental/lifestyle data and registry data. This work relies on intensive local, national and international collaborations. Your mission

As a postdoc you will carry out research with a focus on the development of new theory, tools and methods in the field of epidemiology of multiple sclerosis. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic progressive disease of the central nervous system with tremendous impact on individuals’ lives and the society. Our mission is to improve outcomes of persons with MS using the nationwide health administrative data available in Sweden.    

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.

We are searching for an intelligent, creative, hardworking, and enthusiastic team player. The positions require a PhD degree with focus on statistics, epidemiology, computing science or a closely related field. The ideal applicant must have strong computational and programming skills using R or Python with experience of epidemiologic or public health applications. Experience in predictive model development and use of advance machine learning techniques is essential as well as written and spoken fluency in English. The applicant must be able to demonstrate good social and communication skills. The work involves close national and international collaborations and demands flexibility and excellent communication skills. A high degree of accuracy, proactivity and independence is a strong merit.
