At the Department of Global Public Health, we conduct research, teaching and applied work based on public health science and epidemiology. Our activities have a strong international perspective, and the Department's researchers are scientific advisers to authorities and other decision-makers on the regional, national and international level. The department includes the fields of global health, public health epidemiology and social medicine including health economics, health systems research and implementation research with a total of 150 employees and around 80 PhD students. The position will be within the health system and policy (HSP) research group, Solna, Stockholm, and the sub-group IMPlementation And QualiTy IMPAQT led by Claudia Hanson. You will find a unique opportunity to be part of large international consortia with members in Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe and with strong links to leading institutions in Europe and beyond.

Your mission

Your work will include a wide portfolio of supporting research and research management within our ongoing research studies, particular the ALERT  https://alert.ki.se/ and QUALI-DEC https://www.qualidec.com/en/home/

The main tasks will be to support the research project management of these two large EU projects including scheduling, taking notes and summarising meetings, facilitation of team meetings, follow-up of reporting and monitoring as well as report writing and summarising research findings.

Further, we expect the research assistant to support data management in REDCap and statistical analysis, engagement and contributing to the writing of new grant applications. 

The applicant will work with multi-disciplinary teams and should be willing and able to communicate in a culturally sensitive way. The applicant should be willing to perform duty travels as required.

The applicant should be interested in collaborating with a media expert for improved communication about the projects.

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a research assistant is someone who has a Master’s degree in Public Health, Global Health, Epidemiology or similar.

Knowledge and experience working with statistical packages for quantitative analysis is required, previous experience of STATA and REDCap is a merit.

Prior project management experience is expected and evidence of working in a structured, quality oriented and independent way.  

A major asset will be experience in Global Health, working with multi-professional teams, experiences of working in different cultures and disciplines in low- and middle-income countries including data collection, grant writing, and writing of ethical applications.

We expect excellent skills in reading, writing, and communicating in English. Knowledge of French is a merit.
