Do you want to contribute to improving human health?

The Department of Clinical Science and Education Södersjukhuset pursues undergraduate education, doctoral education and internationally recognized research focusing on common diseases and injuries. The mission is to improve human health. The department is represented at the Medical Doctor Program from semester 4 up to the last semester. The senior lecturer for Clinical Medicine has retired and we are now looking for a replacement.

Subject area

Internal medicine at Södersjukhuset is a large clinic that includes all subspecialties except for cardiology. Both the clinical and educational assignments are large. The educational task includes both a preparative course for clinical medicine and a course in clinical medicine, and is run in co-operation with the cardiology clinic. The research group has a long tradition of clinical research in endocrinology, particularly in diabetes. The group consists of one Professor, 3 Senior Lecturers, 4 associate professors, 8 PhDs and 5 PhD students.

Your mission

The position as Senior Lecturer and specialist physician in internal medicine involves an overall responsibility for courses at the Medical Doctor Program at KI SÖS as well as developing research regarding common diseases in collaboration with other departments at KI. The employment will include responsibility over the course Clinical Medicine 1 at the Medical Doctor Program, but involvement in other courses and programs can be considered. An important part of the work will be to develop an academical leadership within pedagogy and research within the field of internal medicine.

The Senior Lectureship will be combined with clinical duty as specialist trained physician at the Department of Internal Medicine at Södersjukhuset, where clinical experience and knowledge is of great importance to be able to organize the clinical education and research in the best way possible. The employment involves 30% clinical work at Södersjukhuset and 70% teaching and research at KI SÖS.
