In our research group, EPICSS, at the Department of Global Public Health, you will find a unique opportunity to work closely with experts in psychiatric conditions, alcohol and drugs, investigation of the effects of preventive measures and follow-analysis of inequality in the disease burden. We offer a committed and international research environment where you get an opportunity to contribute to research that is largely based on national registers and databases.

Your mission

We are looking for you who want to work with data collection and analysis of large register data, in close collaboration with other researchers in the group, to generating new knowledge about the impact of small-area deprivation on inequality in in anxiety and depression. The project will build upon nationwide register data on health, health care and welfare and methods developed in the Global burden of Disease (GBD) study. Your duties and area of responsibilities include: 

  • Data management
  • Perform statistical analyses
  • Interpretations of results
  • Literature reviews
  • Contribute to writing of scientific articles

Your profile

The applicant should have a master’s degree in public health sciences, or equivalent. A basic degree in nursing or as a medical doctor is a merit. The applicant should be analytical, have strong organizational skills with the ability to work both in a group but also individually. Special emphasize will be put on previous experiences of working and analyzing data from large databases, having been active in scientific communities as well as experiences in meta-analyses, and a motivation and interest in global health, epidemiology, geographical differences, and inequality in health.

The applicant should be able to handle statistical programs (SAS or STATA). Excellent communication skills and fluency in both written and spoken English is a requirement, and basic knowledge of Swedish is a merit.
