The Department of Laboratory Medicine consists of seven divisions in which both research and teaching are carried out. The department is involved in advanced research in both basic and applied research.

The Division of Pathology conducts high quality research on both clinical and cellular and molecular biology issues such as cancer. The department participates in several of the KI's educational programmes at both undergraduate and graduate level, as well as conducting postgraduate training. The Division has a dedicated unit (Centre for Cervical Cancer Prevention) for cervical cancer prevention, related to both health screening and vaccination against Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and is both a national and international reference laboratory for HPV. We are currently looking for a Biomedical Analyst to join Joakim Dillner's research group to work on HPV research and diagnostics.

The position is a fixed-term for 2 years.

Your mission

As a Biomedical Analyst with us, your main duties will include research and diagnosis of Human Papillomavirus. You will be involved in method development work, quality assurance work and processing and analysis of research data.

Common tasks include;

  • Sample preparation
  • DNA extraction
  • PCR and typing with Luminex
  • Sequencing 

Your profile

We are looking for a qualified biomedical analyst with practical experience in laboratory work, preferably in microbiology. Ideally, you should be able to carry out most of the techniques described above independently. As a person, you are meticulous, quality-oriented and have good collaboration skills. You are able to carry out tasks independently and you are flexible. The ability to express yourself both orally and in writing in Swedish and English is a requirement.
