Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

The Department of Laboratory Medicine consists of seven divisions in which both research and teaching are carried out. The department is involved in advanced research in both basic and applied research.

We are currently looking for a Research Assistant for the Division of Biomolecular and Cellular Medicine (BCM). At BCM we work as a multidisciplinary team to advance therapy development for various diseases. Here we use cells, cell products and modified biomolecules as tools to develop new therapeutic strategies and understand fundamental processes within a cell. We perform translational studies in physical proximity to clinical research at the Clinical Research Centre, TRACK, at the Department of Laboratory Medicine, Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge, to bring preclinical studies closer to the clinic.

Caroline Palm Apergi's research group is working on the development of new drugs and the optimisation of treatments for childhood cancer. We are particularly interested in studying haematological tumours. At the moment, we are working in particular on the development of RNAi-based drugs for childhood leucemia.
