We are looking for a motivated research assistant to take part in a project at the Unit of Cardiovascular and Nutritional Epidemiology, Institute of Environmental Medicine (IMM). The research at the unit aims at understanding the connection between diet and its environmental impact as well as its complex health effects, such as cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and other chronic diseases. You will independently work in a project that combines literature search, performing some biostatistical/epidemiological analyses of diet in relation to chosen chronic diseases and description of impact of consumed diet on environment. Furthermore, you will be involved in dissemination of results (organizing seminars and workshops) regarding sustainable diet to promote health of people and environment. The position is temporary for 16 months and plans to start as soon as possible.
The main task of the research assistant is to contribute to literature search regarding impact of diet on environment and health, performing some statistical analyses, summarizing results in form of tables and figures, preparing power point presentations and organizing seminars and workshops.
The applicant should have a master’s degree in Public Health Sciences: Health Promotion and Prevention (incl. courses in biostatistics and epidemiology) or equivalent. Experience from international work and collaboration as well as previous engagement in health and environmental issues through collective actions is meritorious. The candidate needs to be highly motivated and well organized. S/he should be able to communicate well in English, both orally and in writing.
