The Department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics (LIME) conducts research and education that promotes practical implementation of research findings and new knowledge in multicultural healthcare research. The department has two university-wide areas of activity – pedagogical development and support activities as well as research, education, and consultancy in the field of health and medical care – as well as research ethics. Your mission

Assuming allocated funds, we are now looking for two research assistants in the field of Cultural Medicine who can be part of and support our preventive activities in a time-limited project Care - Refugees from Ukraine regarding mapping and assessment of health, competence and language. The work will be practically described in a Method Handbook including action proposals.

Your profile

You will work in the Cultural Medicine research group in an international team that focuses on research in the field in a current time-bound project. Your duties include the following under the project manager (PI):

  • Work towards set goals and follow-up of the project plan (Gantt chart).
  • Translate/back translate information sheet, consent form, interview guide, baseline survey and follow up questions and culturally validate together with the project team
  • Conduct interviews, transcribe and analyze according to qualitative design under supervision
  • Participate in the project's quantitative studies under supervision
  • Be part of preventive activities
  • Regularly search for publications in the field and compile under supervision
  • Participate in writing interim reports, final report, Method Handbook and other publications
  • Participate in the regular meetings of the project group, including the expert group, physically and digitally.

Eligibility requirements

Eligible to be employed as a research assistant on a project is someone who has a bachelor's or master's degree in psychology or an equivalent field of science.

We are looking for you who have:

  • At least two years of previous experience from national/international collaborative projects
  • Experience in conducting interviews, qualitative analyses, report writing
  • Previous experience of therapeutic work with refugees/internally displaced persons, living in Ukraine
  • Detailed, organized, and able to work independently with usual supervision
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Ukrainian

It is particularly meritorious that the applicant has demonstrated

  • Previous research/teaching experience in a college/university environment
  • Experience of and good ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary/interdisciplinary research environments
  • Ability to express oneself concretely and target group-appropriate in Swedish, both orally and in writing
  • Experience with Word, Excel, SPSS (statistics program)
