The Department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics (LIME) conducts research and education that promotes practical implementation of research findings and new knowledge in multicultural healthcare research. The department has two university-wide areas of activity – pedagogical development and support activities as well as research, education, and consultancy in the field of health and medical care – as well as research ethics. Description of the subject area

We are now looking for a full-time research specialist in the field of Cultural Medicine who can be part of and support our preventive activities in a time-limited project Care - Refugees from Ukraine regarding mapping and assessment of health, competence and language. The work will be practically described in a Method Handbook including action proposals.

Your mission

You will work in the Cultural Medicine research group in an international team that focuses on research in the field in a current time-bound project. Your duties include the following under the project manager (PI):

  • Work towards set goals and follow-up of the project plan (Gantt chart).
  • Translate/back translate information sheet, consent form, interview guide, baseline survey and follow-up survey and culturally validate together with the project team
  • Participate in analyzing according to qualitative design and writing partial results
  • Participate in the project's quantitative studies and write partial results
  • Be part of preventive activities
  • Write on the website, make contacts, follow up the target group digitally
  • Regularly search for publications in the field and compile together with the project group
  • Participate in writing interim reports, final report, Method Handbook, and other publications
  • Participate in the regular meetings of the project group, including the expert group, physically and digitally
  • Present at conferences and other meetings
  • Administer monthly finances and write memos from regular meetings in the project group including the expert group

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for employment as a Research Specialist, in addition to holding a Degree of Doctor, PhD, or having equivalent scientific expertise, the applicant must have demonstrated research expertise as well as have documented research experience after defending their doctoral dissertation.

Assessment criteria

We are looking for you who have:

  • PhD in sociology or equivalent subject and knowledge of social trends and values ​​in Ukrainian society. Experience studying displaced communities and inter-ethnic relations
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing (quantitative and qualitative) interviews, surveys, and documents
  • Experience in writing and publishing scientific articles and presenting results at scientific conferences
  • Experience of coordinating a cultural association, including writing on the website, making contacts, following up
  • Ability to express oneself concretely and target group-appropriate in English and Ukrainian, both orally and in writing.

It is particularly meritorious that the applicant has demonstrated:

  • Ability to express oneself concretely and target group-appropriate in Swedish, both orally and in writing
  • Experience of research in the field of labor market, psychosocial health, work environment, equality, non-discrimination, and accessibility analyses, preferably with a focus on work environment
  • Experience of and good ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary/interdisciplinary research environments
  • Experience of responsibility for registry studies or equivalent
  • Experience in qualitative design including analysis
  • High scientific productivity relevant to the position in recent years
  • Experience with administrative tasks and finance related to the research process, including establishing routines related to research documentation.
