The Department of Global Public Health is an interdisciplinary institution that aims to advance knowledge on how to improve population health at local, national and global level. Research at the department aims to identify the determinants of health, develop and evaluate individual and structural interventions, and provide evidence for guidelines and policy documents. Many of the department's researchers are scientific advisors to authorities and other decision-makers at regional, national and international level. The department has 9 research groups, about 85 research students and about 140 employees.

Your mission

We are looking for a person with master training within Global Health and some experience of research implementation in low- and middle income setting. The overall goal is to conduct research and training with strong health policy implications and to promote evidence-based health care policies and techniques. The work includes to participate in the JPI-AMR project I-CRECT. The applicant is also expected to contribute to writing proposals for research funding within the area of study, also emanating from the applicant’s own ideas and theories.

Your profile

To be current for the position, you have:

  • A master in global health
  • Some experience of carrying out medical research in low and middle income settings, experience from South East Asia and Vietnam is a strong advantage
  • Basic research skills and ability in community studies and laboratory work
  • Previous experience of managing and analyzing data
  • A demonstrated interest in global Health and Microbiology
  • Knowledge within microbiology and medical technology is an advantage. 
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English and Swedish
  • Knowledge in Vietnamese is an advantage
  • You have good organizational skills and the ability to work independently as well as excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated writing ability and competence with Microsoft Word and statistical software as SPSS
