Do you want to contribute to improving human health?

We construct digital twins of individual patients based on omics- and clinical routine data. Those twins are computationally treated with thousands of drugs to find the drug or drugs that are optimal for the patient. The project is based on a multi-disciplinary international collaboration funded by the European Commission and the Nordic Research Council.

Your mission

Your role is to contribute to the design and computing of digital twins, in close collaboration with other bioinformatics, AI-, experimental and clinical researchers. This involves exciting and challenging tasks, which you can get a brief introduction to at our website. This website also includes links to publications and a recorded talk at Harvard.

Your profile

You should have PhD training in computational biology or bioinformatics relevant to our research. This should have resulted in publications with impact> 5, where you are a co-author. Experience of research in AI or machine learning are strong merits. The most important thing is that you have the ability to quickly learn, or develop, new methods and use them in interdisciplinary collaborations. Because cooperation requires trust, ability to co-operate and personal integrity are very important. It is also good if you are performance-oriented with clear career goals in academia or industry, which we can jointly plan for. Structured career planning is important for motivation, and has proven very successful for previous and present co-workers. You must take initiative and have a problem-solving analytical ability. We value personal qualities in the selection of candidates.

Eligibility requirements

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor in bioinformatics is one who has obtained a doctorate in biology, medicine, mathematics, statistics, bioinformatics computer science or has equivalent scientific competence. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.
