Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

You will be joining the Unit of Integrative Epidemiology at the Institute of Environmental Medicine. Our research aims at understanding the risk factors and prognostic indicators for different chronic diseases as well as comorbidities between different diseases. We use different research tools in addressing these research questions, including population and health registers, large scale cohort and case-control studies, as well as different biobanks. We integrate closely epidemiology with other pre-clinical and clinical research.

Your mission

The recruited postdoc will take lead in data analysis and result interpretation and dissemination. The recruited postdoc is also expected to contribute to other ongoing projects of the team.

In addition, there are possibilities to initiate individual research projects, based on the candidate´s interests.

This is a temporary position of two years.

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.

We are looking for you who have: 

  • A doctorate in areas relevant to the projects, such as psychology, (bio)statistics, mental health research
  • Experience in the planning and executing of quantitative studies, including the collection and analysis of data
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical methods
  • Advanced R programming skills
  • Experience in coordinating and administering research projects Excellent oral and written skills in English

It is an advantage if you have the following skills: 

  • Experience in leading research projects
  • Experience in publishing scientific papers besides those included in your dissertation 
  • Being able to work independently on quantitative research data
