Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

In our research group, you will find a unique opportunity to work closely with top researchers in the borderland between psychology and neuroscience to jointly try to understand human cognition on a neural level. We offer an engaging and international research environment where you get an opportunity to contribute to high-quality research at an international top level.

Your mission

The project is focused on increased understanding of our working memory, an integral part of flexible cognition. To this end, human cognitive and neuroimaging studies will be combined with analysis of data recorded intracranially in animal models (spikes, LFPs). In particular, the underlying mechanisms that lend humans their ability to generalize will be investigated in this interdisciplinary project. The postdoc will conduct multiple studies, both using EEG and MEG in human subjects as well as comparing EEG/MEG data to LFP data in animals.

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.

To be eligible for the position, you must have completed your doctoral degree in neuroscience or equivalent.

Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the position, emphasis will be put on the candidate’s ability to work and function in a team. Prior experience working in teams is very valuable. The position will also entail a lot of independent work, so candidates can ideally demonstrate a history of independent work.

Experience in neuroimaging (EEG / MEG / LFPs / spiking) and analysis of such data (Matlab, MNE) is meritorious. As is designing and implementing cognitive experiments in animals and humans. The applicant will be expected to quickly and independently be able to engage in these areas.

Fluency in English is required. Excellent writing skills and fluency in Swedish are considered a plus. Experience working in an international environment will also be meriting.
